Make3D: Convert your image into a 3D model
make3d.stanford.edu/, posted 2008 by peter in 3d ai graphics science
Make3D converts your single picture into a 3-D model. It takes a two-dimensional image and creates a three-dimensional "fly around" model, giving the viewers access to the scene's depth and a range of points of view.

Protecting Your Images: The Myth of Creative Commons

I think Creative Commons has its heart in the right place, because it promotes a climate of sharing. But no system is 100 percent foolproof. Unless you can negotiate every possible scenario for how and where your image will be used, the only sure way to keep protected may just be to not post anything live anymore.

Retro-Future: To the Stars!

This is the start of a new series, collection of the most inspiring & hard-to-find retro-futuristic graphics. We will try to stay away from the well-known American pulp & book cover illustrations and instead will focus on the artwork from rather unlikely sources: Soviet & Eastern Bloc "popular tech & science" magazines, German, Italian, British fantastic illustrations and promotional literature - all from the Golden Age of Retro-Future (from 1930s to 1970s).
